PEOPLE FOCUSED. COMMUNITY DRIVEN. BUSINESS BUILDING
⭕️ Industry Inner Join is Perth’s data community - bringing professionals together to connect, share insights and uplift data literacy across the city.
We host quarterly events - both in-person and online - and share insights on industry trends, tools and ideas shaping the future of data.
Whether you’re early in your career or leading teams, you’ll find value in connecting with peers who understand the challenges and opportunities of working with data every day.
Powered by DR Analytics Recruitment - helping businesses hire top data talent while supporting the growth of Perth’s data ecosystem.
Industry Inner Join v20 - $1 Sprint
Industry Inner Join brings together analysts, developers, scientists and engineers from across the data ecosystem to connect, share insights and lift data literacy across the city.
This edition, we’ve teamed up with Civic Hackers, with support from Endava, for a $1 Sprint: two hours to take an idea from scratch to something real, and maybe even your first dollar. Form a team or come solo, pick a problem in data, AI, software or analytics and build it before the clock runs out. Tim Sondalini will kick off with the product lifecycle and design process, then coach teams on prototyping as they build. Land a sale or not, you’ll leave with a portfolio piece worth talking about. This is a hands-on night, so bring your laptop!
Industry Inner Join v19 - AI in the Wild
Industry Inner Join brings together analysts, developers, scientists and engineers from across the data ecosystem to connect, share insights, and lift data literacy across the city.
This edition, we've invited some of Perth's top data and AI practitioners to take the floor. Each of our 4x speakers gets 10 minutes to share how they're bringing AI into their data role: the tools they reach for, the workflows that changed and what's actually working in practice.

Outer Join - An Industry Inner Join Event
We’re going a little bigger for this one.
Outer Join is a one-time spin-off from Industry Inner Join - built for the Perth data community.
This is a mini-conference-style evening for people working across data, analytics, AI, engineering and leadership. We're bringing together senior-level professionals, sharp thinking and broader industry conversations under one roof.
Industry Inner Join v17 - Mine the Mess: Fix a Broken Dashboard
Industry Inner Join brings together analysts, developers, scientists and engineers from across the data ecosystem to connect, share insights, and lift data literacy across the city.
We’re challenging our community to rescue Coal’d Blooded Mining’s fictional (but very messy) dashboard by improving its structure, usability, performance and clarity. The dataset is live now, submissions close 5:00pm AWST Sunday 22 February, and selected participants will present their glow-ups live at the 26 February meetup, with judging and audience voting on the night. You don’t need to submit a solution to attend!

Industry Inner Join v16 - Data Platforms of Perth
Industry Inner Join brings together analysts, developers, scientists and engineers from across the data ecosystem to connect, share insights, and lift data literacy across the city. In 2025, we hosted five events spanning technical deep dives, panels, online sessions, and even launched our podcast.
Now, we’re closing out the year with drinks and nibbles at the original Inner Join venue, where it all began three years ago with just 20 people. Today, the community has grown to more than 1,300 data professionals across Perth and Australia.
